Pre-CanSkate program at Centennial Park Skating Club

Pre-CanSkate Program (Age 3-5 years)

CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program, recognized for developing fundamental skating skills across all ice sports.

Centennial Park Skating Club delivers a premium CanSkate program that has been awarded the Skate Ontario CanSkate Excellence Exceeded status, recognizing delivery above the national standard set by Skate Canada.

This Pre-CanSkate program is a fully supervised 30-minute learn-to-skate session for children aged 3 to 5 who have never been on the ice or who have only been on the ice once or twice.

Teaching aids, toys, games, and upbeat music are used to make learning fun and create an encouraging, positive environment.

Please note: A parent, guardian, or designated adult must remain in the arena at all times during the session for any skater aged 12 and under.

Please note that this program uses a shared-ice format, where a small number of adult learners share the same ice time as youth learners.

C.S.A.-approved helmets with a helmet cage and mittens are mandatory. Skaters must bring their own skates and should wear warm clothing that does not restrict movement as they learn to fall and get up safely on the ice.

Please watch the video below for proper Pre-CanSkate equipment guidance.

This program is offered during our Fall and Winter seasons. Please check the exclusion dates, as there is no skating on exclusion days and fees have been adjusted accordingly.
