Program Assistants
Program Assistants (PAs) provide ongoing support to our professional coaches and play an important role in helping sessions run smoothly. They are positive role models for younger skaters and an important part of the Centennial Park Skating Club community.
Roles and responsibilities
- Assist with warm-ups, group activities, and cool-downs.
- Help set up and clean up stations, circuits, and rotations.
- Support coaches during sessions as needed.
- Encourage skaters and help create a positive learning environment.
Strong Program Assistants demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, reliability, and a positive attitude on and off the ice.
Training takes place at the beginning of the skating season to help prepare Program Assistants for their responsibilities.
Volunteer time contributed through this role may count toward high school community involvement hours.
After a second year as a PA, skaters may become eligible to join our PA Coach Team. To learn more, please contact the CanSkate Coordinator at cpskatingclub@gmail.com.
