Designed for children age 5 and up, CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. This program is for beginners age five and up, children or adults. This program is designed with a complete series of balance, control and agility skills taught in six stages of learning that pertain to hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating along with general recreational skating. CanSkate uses nationally-tested and proven curriculum and delivery methods that guarantee skater success in developing stronger basic skills and developing them faster.

This is a learn-to-skate session for children aged 4 to 6 years old. Teaching aids, toys, games and upbeat music are all used to make learning fun and create a very positive environment. 
C.S.A approved helmets (adding helmet cages is recommended for additional safety) and mittens are mandatory. Ratio is 8 skaters per Skate Canada Certified Coach along with mature Program Assistants.

CanPowerSkate is geared to skaters aged approximately six or older who already have basic forward and backward skating skills (they must be able to skate the length of the rink using alternate strides) and are able to stop on command without use of the boards.
